Switchboard ("Switchboard," "we," "us," or "our") operates a B2B software platform for M&A due diligence. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have. It applies to all users of the Switchboard platform and website regardless of location.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service:

2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions;
- Operate and improve the platform (question flows, document storage, deal management);
- Send transactional emails — invite links, magic-link sign-ins, and deal notifications;
- Detect, investigate, and fix errors and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your deal content for training AI models.
3. Sub-processors and Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of trusted sub-processors to operate the Service. Each is bound by contractual data protection obligations:

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except as required by law or compelled by valid legal process, in which case we will notify you where permitted.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and deal content for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Deal data (responses, documents, activity history) is retained after a deal closes to support legal and compliance obligations inherent in M&A transactions.
When an account is deleted, your email address is removed from your profile and your authentication credentials are permanently deleted. Your name and deal participation records (responses, uploaded documents, thread messages, and activity history) are retained to preserve the integrity of shared deal history and to meet legal record-keeping obligations applicable to M&A transactions.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use only essential cookies required to operate the Service — primarily session authentication cookies managed by Supabase. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so will prevent you from signing in.
6. Your Data

7. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process — including encrypted data storage and transit, role-based access controls, and continuous error monitoring. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@switchboarddeals.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
